I am looking to get a wireless mouse for my laptop.

Ideally i would like one that would travel well.  What are your suggestions?

Make sure you get a bluetooth wireless mouse. Logitech is the leading brand in mouse/keyboards. it has some large varieties of blue tooth wireless mouse. You can get some good mouse for less than $100. But before buying a brand its better to go through some product reviews for the particular brand and make.

I have a logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse and it's great. It connects via bluetooth, its pretty looking, it feels nice in the hand, has two buttons, mouse wheel, and the mouse wheel can be clicked to the left or to the right to assign any two actions, the battery last very long (AA bateries). You should definately check it out http://reviews.logitech.com/7061/3287/reviews.htm

1. Smaller, rather than the super-sized, "ergo" mice.
2. "Real" battery, >> rechargable, unless you're good with cords. Easier to replace a real battery than to keep up with one more micro-USB size.
3. That said, anything by logitech that fits #1 and #2.

I'd suggest either the Logitech Nano VX or V450. The VX is the smaller of the two (and more expensive -- around $50) but has great control and durability. I own the V450 and love it. It's slightly larger than the VX (slimmer but the same length as a traditional mouse) and costs around $35. Both have a USB receiver that plugs in for wireless control and is only large enough to pinch and take out. Usual USB receivers are about two inches long and can break off if you're not paying attention.

A mouse is a personal piece of equipment that is best handled to see if it fits. This http://bit.ly/46mj8v "Logitech V450 Nano Laser Cordless Mouse" fits my hand well and is very discreetly black. for personal use you could of course want a red one though.

I'm currently using Razer DeathAdder, it's not wireless but extremely ergonomic. So, when I decide to move to a wireless one I will prefer to buy Razer Orochi. It's twice smaller and to be connected to your PC or Mac via bluetooth. IMHO that's the best wireless mouse on the market. But if you a mac owner take a look at Magic Mouse.

The latest mouse from Apple (http://www.apple.com/magicmouse/) looks interesting - it works on Macs only if you have one of those.
Aside from that, my Logitech Anywhere mouse (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/mice_pointers/mice/devices/5846&cl;=us,en) has been fantastic and is my constant companion for windows machines. Tracks on anything, small enough to pack easily and insanely adjustable. Highly recommended.

Try the Rocketfish USB mouse it is small and the USB is small enough that it does not get in the way when plugged into the side of the laptop. There is also a on and off switch so you can turn it off when traveling to conserve batteries.
