I am trying to find out how to rent a furnished house in Florida for a month (mid-January to mid-February, 2011). The house does not have to be beachfront or near any tourist spots, just have basic furniture, 2 bedrooms and allow dogs in a community within a reasonable drive of the gulf coast near Ft. Meyers.

I approached a Ft. Meyers realtor on this and didn't get a very good response - basically "no one will rent a house for one month, bye." Looking forward to the Idea Offer community's ideas on how to find prices, availability, locations - corporate housing agencies or something similar, perhaps?
