Given the choice between waiting for that lump sum of an annual bonus or getting a pay raise and seeing a small increase in your paycheck that's spread over the twelve months of the year, what would you prefer and why?

It would be nice to have both of course. These days I'd just be glad to be employed and counting my blessings.

Perhaps you'd prefer another kind of incentive altogether? I'll leave that open as a third option.
