Getting past the mid afternoon work slump?
I don't know about anyone else but I find I'm far more productive in the mornings than in the afternoons. Once I get past lunch break time, it seems so much harder to concentrate and stay focused. I'm not sure if it's because of what I'm eating, which is usually just a quick microwaved convenience meal and the first thing I've eaten all day, or it's because I've interrupted my thought process.
I read once that if you're in the middle of something major and are sidetracked by a break or interruption, it can take anything between 30 mins and an hour to get back to where you were mentally before the break. I can't afford to take that long!
Does anyone have any thoughts on how to get back in the swing of things more easily in the afternoon? What could I do to prevent that and be just as productive for the latter part of the day instead of getting that feeling of having wound down mentally?
Any ideas on what I could do would be appreciated. Thanks!
