There are two places I've been that are very beautiful off season: Almost anywhere along the Oregon Coast, but my specific experiences are Bandon and Gold Beach areas. Brookings is also nice, and not so cold. The beaches are nearly deserted, and if you're dressed right, the scenery can be stunning and the weather invigorating. Also, winter storms bring in more 'treasures' with the tides.

Second place that I would recommend is Glanleam on Valentia island in Ireland. It is a beautiful old estate with sprawling botanical gardens and trails to explore that are pretty during any time of the year. Winter storms add to the beauty. I stayed in a charmingly converted boat house which is literally less than 50 feet from the beach and overlooks a beautiful bay. The boat house is the closest one in the picture, with full picture windows on the top floor.

I enjoy the off season travel for the same reasons wherever it is: The prices are often half. The locals seem more friendly because there are less tourists, and - there are less tourists. And finally, the ocean is beautiful no matter what time of year you visit.

well a beautiful city on the northwest coast That i would love to visit would have to be pacific city Oregon. The scenery is full of amazing rocky cliffs with secret trails that you can discover. It is just so breathtaking seeing the water hit the cliffs with such power and magnitude. People will be on jet skis and be doing flips off the waves in the water. There is this incredibly steep hill that people are actually suppose to run down. this hill has to be atleast 200 ft high with at least at a 45 degree angle.

I would recommend St. Augustine, Florida as a Good Place for a Cold Weather Ocean Trip!

Although it is not extremely cold there Winter is definitely off season in St. Augustine.

However, there are still many interesting attractions and historic sites to see there! and it is much less crowded there in the Winter.

Alaskan cruise up the inside passage.

Big Sur cos it has so much literary significance as well as being beautiful. Even though the water is never warm enough to swim in. Same with San Francisco, its never warm enough to swim, but its beautiful.

The great ocean road in Australia is also beautiful. The tropical Queensland beaches are better to swim in during winter because there is less likely to be dangerous creatures around, but the water is still warm enough to swim in, but they are too far to visit.
